Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah and co prevented us from playing for Black Stars - Sebastien Barnes

Former Ghana U-17 captain Sebastien Barnes has accused some famous Ghana legends for blocking the path of the  victorious Black Starlets squad that won the FIFA U-17 Championship in Italia 1991.

After representing Ghana at the FIFA U-17 World Championship in both 1991 and 1993, Barnes earned just one cap for the senior team in 1994.

According the former Ghana youth midfielder legends like Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah, Sarfo Gyamfi and the likes refused to retire from the Black Stars so as to created room for the integration of the young generation that is why most of them never made inroads for the Black Stars.

He made this revelation in an interview with Kumasi based Akoma FM where he said that the old guard saw them as 'small boys'.

"Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah, Sarfo Gyamfi and Co. prevented us from playing for Black Stars" Sabastian Barnes disclosed.

"We didn't fully reach our potential with the Black Stars like we did at the U-17 level because players like Abedi Pele, Tony Yeboah and Sarfo Gyamfi refused to give us the chance to shine.

They said we were small boys after we graduated from the Starlets. They played the national team for so long and refused to exit to give we the young guys any chance." he added.
