The National Sports Authority (NSA)have withdrawn the outrageous charges clubs were supposed to pay for the usage of the Aacra Sports Stadium.
On Monday 19th October wrote a letter informing clubs who use the Accra Sports Stadium to pay a user facility fee of GHC 20,000.
When this letter was made Public, there was a lot of outcry from the public about the NSA being insensitive to the plight of about six clubs who are to use the Accra Sports Stadium.
This has prompted the Ghana Football Association to call a meeting between the NSA and the clubs.
Even before that meeting can be held the NSA have bowed to pressure and have now decided to withdraw those charges.
Director General of the National Sports Authority, Prof Peter Twumasi made this known in an interview in Kumasi FM.
“I can confirm the NSA has withdrawn the charges which was released on 19th October 2020 for the usage of the Accra Sports Stadium.”
“However, the figure was agreed in consultations with the clubs who utilizes the Accra Sports Stadium as their home venue but met so many unpleasant reactions from all the clubs and other stakeholders.”
“The minister will present to cabinet to seek funds in absorbing the cost of the stadium maintenance whiles the NSA also seeks for other sources for fund.”
About six football clubs including Hearts of Oak, Kotoko, Great Olympics,Legon Cities,Inter Allies are all expected to use the Accra Sports stadium for their matches.
