Former Kotoko and Ashantigold striker Alex Asamoah has bemoaned the low salaries on offer in the Ghana Premier League.
He says that players in Benin receive better salaries than footballers who play in the Ghana Premier League.
The former Kotoko striker last played for Béninois outfit UPI-ONM FC but is now without a club after leaving them.
According to him players who play in lesser developed leagues and less economies in Benin are paid more in wages and salaries than most Ghanaian players.
"In terms of the player's salary, Benin is better than Ghana. My contract with UPI-ONM FC in Benin has expired so I am free to join any other club even a 3rd division club." he revealed in an interview with Pure FM.
Players salaries in the local league has been a thorny issue with some players receiving as low as GHC100 every months which is less than $20.
