Ghana, Fortuna Dusseldorf's Nana Opoku Ampomah tests positive for coronavirus

Ghana and Fortuna Dusseldorf forward Nana Opoku Ampomah has tested positive for coronavirus at his German base.

As reported by footballmadeinghana.com, the pacy winger is one of two players who tested positive for the virus when latest tests were conducted by the club.

Due to the results of the test, all members of the squad, technical team and other ancillary staff of the club have been directed by the local health department to be in quarantine at home.

"Yes it’s true I have tested positive and I am currently quarantined," Nana told footballmadeinghana.com.

The club announced that they carried out routine tests as is now the protocol by Düsseldorf’s team doctor and hygiene officer Dr. Ulf Blecker and  test results were announced later on Friday evening.

Dawid Kownacki is the other player to have also tested positive for the virus and both players were immediately  isolated from the entire squad to prevent further spread.

They both trained with the entire team and also played in practice match against Meerbusch a day before the test.

Ampomah was on the periphery when the club was playing in the Bundesliga and has been linked with moves elsewhere with a host of clubs in Belgium interested in him.
